Skirlet <Guest>A 22 Guardian, 20 Hunter, and me (19 Minstrel) took this tree down with no difficulty. We then proceeded to hunt more of them around the forest. This particular tree didn't seem any more powerful than the other trees. Image from Flickr.

Pilindiel <Guest>Actually, it's not the only one. You can also get these off the elite trees at the far southern edge of the barrow downs, which is a better spot for a number of reasons. However, the drop rate on these things is pretty low. As a 50 hunter with capped agi, it took me a a bit over an hour to come up with 10 broken roots.
