CrolfaWhen the dev guys were testing this quest, did they survive 1/12843 tries so said, It's Doable, We'll leave it at that? With vent and a few friends you can do it. NO way can it be done SOLO. ..and if so, i want proof :P

Soloed it at first attempt <2007-10-04 01:04:21>
Berryl <Guest>Don't know what kind of proof I can give, but it is solo-able. I managed to succeed at the first try (without outside help and without any random PCs running by to clean the way). Here is how: First, be sure you are very familiar with the geography and the mobs in the Troll-Shaws. Second, always switch to camera mode, and set the camera to the longest possible distance. Turn down graphics, if needed, to avoid any video lag. Third, in dangerous areas, use your run speed buff only when you are chased. Don't waste it. If you get chased, first hit the evade buff, then stop, then feign. This is in most cases better than to run. But try to avoid any aggro if possible. Fourth, do it during daytime. At this time there are no (or at least significantly less) stealthed mobs in the Troll-Shaws. Fifth, the only really difficult part is the ramp up. Try not to run fast through it with the hope of escape. Rather, watch the path of each roamer very carefully, and proceed by 1-2 mobs at a time towards the next safe spot. One more tip: The ramp consists of 4 parts (south-east, north-west, south-east, north-west). At the end of the 2nd part, there is a little ledge a bit downhill at the western side, which is safe from mobs. You can rest there a bit and watch the roamers. Hope this helps, and good luck :)

    First try... <2008-03-21 22:15:07>
Leo <Guest>I made it all the way up the ramp without even getting chased. Then when I got to the area with the badgers, I stopped for a second to grab a soda. I came back, watched how to badgers patrol'd, then got 1 shotted by a stealthed wolf. :/ So, I will never again do this quest, but ya, if you get that far, use your sealth detect, and just fucking run.

Ash <Guest>Like Berryl, i soloed this quest as well. Good info given by him about the quest. I would add: use your tab key to cycle though close mobs just in case you don't see one around a corner or rock. That and use your left mouse button to swing the camera around to look about all the time when in the Trollshaws. Just watch the spawn paths. Definately can be Soloed <2008-04-21 22:36:42>
UanadanI wasn't good enough to do it on the first try, in fact it took me 3. Third time was a charm and I got my Clock of the Cluck by doing all of the Flying the Coop quests solo. As Berryl suggested, keep your camera pulled back and use the left mouse button to swing around and search for mobs. Don't get impatient and keep your play dead and run buffs ready for when you need them. If you waste them on trying to get done faster, then they won't be available when needed. When I had use them, I would find a safe spot to wait it out till they recharged. I still had plenty of time left by the end of the quest. Good Luck to all the Chicken Fans

Polo <Guest>Managed to do it on my first try. I used all the tips given above, with one difference. When I reached the Ford of Bruinen I decided to try an alternative route to the dangerous climb up the road. I swam along the river to the South and went up the ramp that starts near the Abandoned Cellar. The river is safe as long as you stay close to the Western cliffs, but beware of the toads, they can and so swim sometimes. The mobs are spaced much further apart on this ramp than on the normal road. Glen-bucks will aggro but they give warning, apart from that there are just a few worms. You get back to the main road through the narrow gap in the rocks and find yourself at the top end of the normal ramp. From there on follow the usual route. Good luck!
