| Background | 'If we are going to do something about these insects, you need to know something about them: they seem to have a keen sense of smell, and they use it for more than just hunting prey. They actually seem to talk to each other using different scents, if such can be called speech. 'I have a plan to turn this against them, but to verify my plan, I need you to collect a few of their scent-glands. They are the small bulbous organs near the tip of their tail. 'If I can study enough of them, I may be able to find just the scent we need.' |
