  • Collect Gondorian sapphire
  • Collect platinum Ingot (/)
  • Fashion the memorium ring and show it to Merilos
  • BackgroundThe master jeweller Merilos is in Rivendell. You have been told that Merilos asks to speak with all jewellers who attain your level of skill.
    DescriptionTIP: The Sapphire can drop off any orc in the Ram Duath in Angmar.

    The Note Reads:

    I have set down these notes so I may test not only your skill, but also your wisdom. There is more to the making of jewellery than the mere fashioning of the piece. If you are able to internalize this truth, I will be satisfied and recognize you to be a master-jeweller. If not, you will become as have many before you: disappointing.

    PLATINUM INGOTS

    You will need the services of an artisan prospector if you are to fashion the band. Three platinum ingots will be sufficient.

    GONDORIAN SAPPHIRE

    I learned from a visitor to Imladris that some of his people had planned an excursion into Angmar in search of treasure. The leader of this expedition possessed a sapphire of great beauty, and those who followed him did so with the expectation of receiving similar treasures. They never returned from Ram DĂșath, and the leader's sapphire is likely now in the possession of an Orc. Retrieve the gem from its new owner and use it as the basis for the memorium ring.

    When you have fashioned the memorium ring, I will judge both its quality and yours.

    Dayn <Guest>I got my Sapphire off a Blogmal SKirmisher at approx. 4.4S 36.7 W, but I expect you can find it off any Skirmisher or Fighter in the Ram Duath

    Incorrect start location <2007-08-03 15:21:47>
    <Guest>The quest starts with the expert Jewler Daemirdan in Estelden not Rivendell

    <2007-08-09 01:07:18>
    RedtideQuest starts in Rivendell

    Adaram <Guest>Quest started in Esteldin for me

    <2007-08-14 01:44:40>
    Mental <Guest>The quest starts from ANY novice jeweler.

    Silfrintoppr <Guest>It's a matter of semantics. When you reach a high enough skill, the expert jeweler NPC in Esteldin will send you to Rivendell to the other NPC who officially starts this quest. Technically, the NPC in Esteldin isn't starting this quest, he is only directing you to the NPC (in Rivendell) who is.

    Galford <Guest>Dropped off the first orc I killed at the sothern most of camp in Ram Duath. Easy stuff. It was harder to get the ore required.

    Again...how to deliver the memorium ring? <2008-04-16 22:58:25>
    Leorich <Guest>My char is lvl 40 and I can't deliver the ring to Merilos. Does anyone know why? Broken quest? Some obscure requisite?
