| Background | The rock in the hill-beast lair is at the entrance to the valley, not far north of Aughaire. Tasgall has given you some roasted crawler-flesh, which you should bring to a certain rock in the lairs of the hill-beasts. |
| Description | SPOILER: First you need to kill Deadly Ash-Crawlers to get the 8 pieces of flesh as bait. You can then go through the valley with all of the Madenned Hill-beasts. Head west instead of east (which would lead you to Drakes) until you come to a cave at the end. You can place the bait here on the Flat Rock. This will bring out the Great Beast, who is an Elite Master. Slay it.
In a perfect world things would end here, but they unfortunately do not. When you return to Tasgall you find out that you have been bamboozled. The real great beast will now ambush you with several waves of comrades. If you let Tasgall die during this fight you will lose. Keep him alive and slay the beasts to complete the quest. |
