Lord of the Rings Online The Path to Learning, Part IV

Edit This Entry

NameThe Path to Learning, Part IV
Level40
TypeCrafting
Starts at NPCIdhremmin
Starts in Zones
Occurs in Zones
Requires Items
Objectives
  • Collect ruined dwarf-manuscript
  • Collect 3 Fragments of Dunedain Script(/)
  • Collect Relic of Lothlorien
  • Reconstruct the Chant of the Stalwart and show it to Idhremmin
  • BackgroundIdhremmin is at Mincham's Camp on the Fields of Fornost, in the North Downs. The scholar Idhremmin on the Fields of Fornost has asked you to reconstruct the Chant of the Stalwart to prove your mastery of the scholarly art.
    DescriptionTIP: The Manuscript is located at the Cairn of Honour in Angmar

    TIP: The Stone can be found at N 4.8, W 36.8.

    TIP: Approach the Cairn of Honour from the SW and skirt around south of the ruins to the west, between a wall and the cliff. A scara patrols there, so watch for it. Then walk along the wall and cut north across the ruins to the west of the Cairn. The manuscript is at 4.8N, 36.8W. It is best to approach it from the north.

    THE NOTE READS:

    You will need several materials and sources of some lost texts if you are to reconstruct the Chant of the Stalwart. I hope that these notes will aid you in your study, for I would very much like to hear it in its original form, if that is possible.

    3 FRAGMENTS OF DUNEDAIN SCRIPT

    RELIC OF LOTHLORIEN

    RUINED DWARF-MANUSCRIPT

    If dwarves ever lived in the foothills of Fasach-falroid, as I believe they did, they no doubt left some sign of their presence behind. Do not be distracted by the totems and statuary erected by the evil Men of Angmar...see beneath their workings, and you will see the truth of what came before. They pay homage to a hilltop cairn in Fasach-falroid, and from my studies I feel that this is the same hill mentioned in other sources I have obtained. Pay no heed to the trappings of Angmar and search this hill for a stone containing record of the dwarves I think must once have lived there.

    Once you obtain the sources I have detailed here, I ask you to reconstruct the chant of the stalwart and bring it to me for my perusal.

    wrong level <2007-05-23 22:18:18>
    MadPAMThe level of the quest "The Path to Learning, Part IV" is 40 and not 30

    <2007-06-16 08:56:17>
    <Guest>manuscript is located at the carine of honour in angmar.

    <2007-06-25 21:28:12>
    TeroonThey changed the required mats: Instead of the forgotten text and moon letters you now need 3 Dunedain skripts and a relic of Lothlorien.

    how to reconstruct <2007-09-04 19:46:16>
    locke <Guest>i have all mate but it wont let me reconstruct the chant ... ive tried a superior study but still no luck ... how do i do it

    <2007-09-10 22:46:03>
    MustardseedThis quest is doable solo as early as L24; just run past the mobs very carefully: it's possible to do without a single death.

    How to reconstruct <2007-09-11 21:07:03>
    James diGriz <Guest>the pattern is a one time use drop only pattern so far ive been very unlucky at finding 1 geewiz

    Wait a minute... <2008-01-17 21:35:32>
    uhhh... <Guest>I'm level 26. Why did the Novice Tailor nor Mincham give me this quest? I just nudged my Artisan up to 440/440. I have a 17th level Tinker that has managed to do her two big quests through 40 for Cooking and Tinkering. My Scholar has done his weaponsmithing 40th level quest. What am I doing wrong to kick this thing off?

    location <2008-01-18 22:00:50>
    katseka <Guest>of the Cairn of Honor for dwarf manuscript in Angmar is under the C in Fasach-Falroid - look up and you'll see ruins on top of giant hill, just follow ramp up and up until you get to very top and that's where script is.

    Hahah <2008-03-04 21:57:21>
    Jack <Guest>What a bunch of liars... lv 40 quests dont show up for lv 24-26's

    Whatever <2008-03-07 21:14:57>
    JC <Guest>Crafting skills show up no matter your level. I am lvl 26 and have this 40 quest.

    Quest level <2008-03-07 21:14:57>
    Auralee <Guest>I am a level 24 loremaster, I have advanvced in the art of the scholar to this quest which opens up the Master tier. This quest has nothing to do with adventure level, it has to do with crafting level.

    Patch Update <2008-04-09 19:20:32>
    adam <Guest>guys, why use these 'advice' boards for having childish spats. In the most recent patch it has ammended crafting quests not to show up unless your level is suitable. Before however, you were right, i have a lvl 26 minstrel that is a GM tailor, mainly made him GM to get rid of all the hides i'd accumulated during leveling 2 characters to 50. Concerning the actual mats i can't confirm as im still stood in rivendell, and came here to find where the special item is found.

    Update? <2008-04-10 23:20:24>
    Skald <Guest>Well lucky I picked this up before the most recent patch? I just completed it solo as a lvl 21 mins. It was tough, and I died twice - stealthed wargs are hard to steer around and once they're onto you, a 44 ward makes short work of a short dwarf! My advice is to approch the Cairn of Honour from the SW and skirt around south of the ruins to the west, between a wall and the cliff. A scara patrols there, so watch for it. Then walk along the wall and cut north across the ruins to the west of the Cairn. The manuscript is at 4.8N, 36.8W. It is best to approach it from the north. Good luck!

    Still not patched. <2008-04-11 22:24:43>
    Selari <Guest>Despite what you read, my level 15 Scholar picked up this quest today.

    No minimum level requirement <2008-04-17 21:48:40>
    Tessah <Guest>I am a level 8 minstrel and just picked up this quest, hence the reason I am here trying to find out where I need to go for it. So, no, there are no minimum level requirements for crafting quests.

    No minimum level requirement <2008-05-02 16:15:12>
    Random Dude <Guest>Got the quest just now; L24 Minstrel

    Coordinates <2008-05-05 21:59:07>
    PHGamer <Guest>The stone can be found at 4.8N, 36.8W. While there are several 44th level guards, they broke off just as I reached the stone. Good luck.

    Confirm <2008-05-18 14:35:56>
    Yutani <Guest>I picked it up as level 28 burg. Finished it without any trouble at level 34. I'd make sure set your home point to rivendell if you're not an elf. It could get complicated if you have to back track home as well.

    no level requirement <2008-06-22 21:59:51>
    Lennalf <Guest>None of the crafting quests that are required to move up in tiers have level requirements. I trained two characters to grandmaster level in their respective crafts before they even hit 15, and this was all since the most recent patch. Anybody who says different is mistaken.

    <2008-06-26 20:50:41>
    Silvanus <Guest>Yeah, really lame. As a 36 LM, I potted 5 times just trying to get to the Cairn of Honor. Then made the horrible mistake of going back to the NPC instead of Rivendell. They should put the NPC in Rivendell, not in Fornost ffs. If you're lower level, don't even try it without an escort. Not soloable. Mobs do 200 damage on average and 400-500 on crits.

    dwarf manuscript <2008-07-07 07:25:13>
    Blackie <Guest>I did the manuscript into angmar with my level 21 hunter lol. Just avoid Baddies and take your time

    No level requirement <2008-08-01 22:40:31>
    CriticalHit <Guest>No level requirement confirmed. Just did this quest with my level 2 burglar.

    <2008-09-13 23:12:09>
    Isilin <Guest>If you can't get this quest, make sure you actually finished the quest to get access to the superior study - had thought to do them both at once, but couldn't get this until I turned in those books.

    <2008-10-22 23:16:54>
    K <Guest>Did at lvl 17, had a mini follow me, as soon as i died, would rez, then run as far as i could, got there in 2 deaths.
