Objectives
• Speak to Legolas in Rivendell
• Obtain the Missing Pages
• BackgroundYou have heard of this book before -- The Way of the Hunter is believed to have been a work produced by Elven hunters who were set to the task of guarding the approaches of the hidden city of Gondolin, which fell to the forces of darkness in the First Age. While this work outlived its authors and has been copied innumerable times since, many of those copies were produced by Men from far older works and are imperfect in their translation, leaving several important points untold.
This copy of The Way of the Hunter appears to have been a much more accurate work, probably transcribed by Elven scribes in Rivendell or Lorien -- but unfortunately someone seems to have intentionally defaced the book, ripping several pages from it. Legolas of the Elves might be able to shed some light on the text.
DescriptionThis is a legendary book quest. The quest begins when you read the legendary book of the same name. You must then turn this book in to Legolas in Rivendell. Finally you must collect the pages of the book and examine them.

The Higher numbered pages can be found on Blogmal Warriors in Eastern Malenhad, near S 2.9, W 26.3 or from Goblins in the Eastern Bruinen Source. The remaining pieces drop from Hillmen Raiders in Donnvail.

The Lower numbered pages drop from Hillman Raiders in Donnvail or Ironbound Wights in Imlad Balchorth of Angmar.

Koeril <Guest>I just spent 2.5 hours of orc destroying to get page 17, the only one I need. Other hunters saw 5 pages drop, but no page 17. We were fighting along the track North from Gabilshathur. I'm in the right place, yeah? 2.5 hours for one page seems WAY higher than average.

Ezeran <Guest>Page one dropped in Dun Covad for me off a Ongurz

Page Drops as at Feb 09 <2009-02-03 23:56:14>
ElTorqiro <Guest>The book I got off the AH. The pages I got the bottom 4 off the hillmen on the stairs of Helegrod (Misty Mountains) very quickly. The top 4 off the Duvardain in Angmar, I just did a couple of laps of Dun Covad and got all 4. Same goes for the other book, Shot in the Dark, which I got at the same time. Different rules apply for Furthest Charge, which is random drops from the world and nowhere near as common.

<2009-03-02 21:45:10>

book drop <2009-04-19 12:07:47>
Ravenshadow121 <Guest>Where and what drops the book? not finding anything on it

Book Location <2009-04-25 02:21:27>
Fall-Apart <Guest>For those asking, nothing/no one in particular drops the book. Men-type enemies (Gobs, Dourhands, Guaradain, Raiders, Orcs, etc) above a certain level have the _chance_ to drop the book(s), but it's random--no one or type specifically (that only applies to the pages for the books). Your best bet is to buy the book(s) off the AH as farming them yourself is going to be a hellfire of tedium. Unfortunately, the Hunter books seem to be the highest in demand and usually are going for ghastly prices, in addition to being scarce because even at crazy prices they are bought up quickly.

Shop till you drop :-) <2009-06-04 14:36:22>
Serge Finder <Guest>I bought the freakin' book and all the freakin' pages :-)
