  • Elrond is in the library at Imladris. You must tell Elrond that the Thunder-lord is now defeated and the threat of the giants has been lessened.
    • BackgroundThe Thunder-lord rules the giants from Iorbar, south and east of the Giants' Table in the Misty Mountains. The Thunder-lord is the source of the giants' recent hostility, and he must be defeated before all the giants in the region heed his commands. You will need the aid of brave allies if you hope to defeat him.
    DescriptionTIP: The Thunder-Lord is at S 30.6, E 5.2

    Jymmboc <Guest>Yesterday found the spot for it, its a long run going through packs of 1-2, sometimes 3 (cos they patrol) Giants Elders and Rock... Elites lv 47 and Elites lv 43-44. This is one of that quest that has the lv improper (i mean the game report it too low for what it really its). The Thunder Lord its on a area with around 9 of that giants all around on a not very big area, a pull there prolly its the nightmare.

    Davadin <Guest>I agree about the imbalanced. i tried it with a full group of 45~46 and we got overwhelmed. last night i tried with 46~49 group and we got it. minstrel must work hard healing everybody, so make sure u dont split up. More than 1 tank is preferable; it was 1-49-GRD as MT, so i off-tank wit my 48Champ. The place is the highest spot in the whole camp with the elder walking around 6 other elite giants. Try getting as high as possible, it's abit of a maze there. plus, ALWAYS put ur back against the wall.

    ElagonBest plan is to do this quest in tandem with the quest Towering Champions. If you do Sukdyr, then Madfurr, and Kulgurz last on that quest you will be in good position to find the Thunder-lord. Once you've killed Kulgurz, get back on the path and continue the way you were going. You will cross a bridge and into an open area with 8 or 9 giants. Take your time, clear them out in 1s and 2s and at the far end, you will find the Thunder-lord. Don't hang about after you've finished, the respawn rate is pretty quick.

    Rawlor <Guest>Take Elagon's advice and do this with Towering Champions. Also, it is a good idea to have a lvl 46 hunter with you so you can port back to rivendell (or anywhere else afterwards). Once you take out the 4 or 6 in front you *can* pull the 3 leftover giants to the far left corner. that way when the respawns pop back you won't pull agro (and my word do they ever respawn quick).

    cenabrant <Guest>I just soloed it with a lvl50 burglar. Sneaked in pulled him into a corner, riddled him, hipsed to loose the adds and then defeated him in one to one combat (though I did need to use my manheal)
